Divyata sells two kinds of home internet: fibre broadband, which runs a glass fibre cable into your home, and Divyata AirFiber, which reaches your roof by radio from one of our towers. Both are unlimited and both come with a router. The right choice depends mostly on your address and how you use the internet.
How each one reaches your home
Fibre carries light through a thin glass cable from our network all the way to a small box inside your home. Light in glass is not affected by weather or electrical noise, which makes fibre the most stable option we offer.
AirFiber uses a small outdoor antenna on your roof or balcony that points at a Divyata network point. There is no cable to lay in the road, so it works in places where fibre has not reached yet, or where digging is not allowed.
Speed: download and upload
- Fibre gives the same upload and download speed. That matters if you upload large files, take video calls all day or back up photos to the cloud.
- AirFiber download speeds match the plan, but upload is lower than fibre on most AirFiber plans.
For streaming, browsing and normal video calls, both are comfortable. If you regularly send big files, choose fibre where it is available.
Weather and reliability
Fibre is not affected by rain. On AirFiber, heavy rain can briefly affect some links. Our NOC monitors the network 24×7 either way.
If you cannot afford any downtime, for example because you work from home, look at Premium broadband. It combines fibre with a wireless backup path from a different tower.
Installation
- Fibre: installation usually takes about 2 working days once the order is confirmed.
- AirFiber: a quick install with no digging, as long as there is line of sight from your roof to one of our network points.
Data limits
The fair-usage policy is the same on both: 3,300 GB a month at full speed, then one-tenth of your plan speed until the month resets. Most families never come close to that.
Price
AirFiber plans cost more than fibre plans of the same speed, because each wireless link needs its own radio equipment. See current prices on the plans page.
Quick answer
- Fibre is available at your address: choose fibre.
- No fibre yet, or digging is not possible: choose AirFiber. It has an upgrade path to fibre later.
- You need the connection to stay up no matter what: choose Premium.
